2010 was a busy year for us. I have a feeling 2011 might be even busier.
The beginning of 2010 started with Ben taking Organic Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, working and studying for the MCAT in the same semester. He wasn't around much. I seem to remember a whole lot of sickness going through our house. By the time April rolled around, we hadn't done anything spectacular, and we headed to Oregon during our break for Ben to take the MCAT (not much of a break for him). Kennady and I had fun hanging out with the family though. That trip ended with another stomach bug going around our house. The summer semester was a little less hectic, as Ben's classes weren't quite as demanding, but he was still studying to retake the MCAT, working, and applying for medical school. We had no idea how crazy of a process that was going to be. We also got a new nephew, Scott, who I am excited to live closer to, because he is so cute!
At the end of July, Kennady and I headed to Missouri while Ben retook the MCAT and studied for finals. We had so much fun visiting Grandma and Grandpa and enjoying the super warm weather and swimming. Kennady also had the experience of her first airplane ride, and loved it. I had the experience of traveling alone with an infant, and all and all it wasn't too bad. I was gone for our anniversary though. We even got to see Uncle Dustin leave for his mission.
In August Ben didn't have any classes, but the secondary applications for medical school started rolling in, and those became a second job for him. By September we were ready for a real break.
We went to Disneyland! It was a short trip, but so much fun. Kennady loved it, and so did we. Mom Ellis even got to join us, making it all the more fun. Kennady got to give Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell a hug, and she is still talking about it. The really cool thing about the trip? We got awesome deals on everything (like getting into Disneyland for free and a super cheap flight) so it didn't even break the bank. Which was good, because originally we planned it to be Ben's graduation trip, but then he decided it would be wise to go one more semester.
Right after we got home from that trip, we did laundry and headed off to Oregon. Dan got home from his mission! And Marlene got married! So Kennady got a new uncle- Kaman. I think that makes 7 uncles for her. The wedding was nice, although we definitely kept busy, but it was fun to have all of Ben's family together. We also left that trip with a stomach bug...although this time Kennady was the only one who got it.
We returned and Ben went back to school and work. The semester was a pretty slow one, except Ben found plenty of things to do- like his research projects and job hunting. In October we got a new niece, Eisley, and we are sad we don't live close to her anymore, because she's so cute! We also found out we were expecting our second kid! Kennady celebrated her 2nd birthday with a dinosaur party. We were fortunate enough to have Mom and Dad Ellis there too...and she loved it! She was Tinkerbell for Halloween and we're pretty sure it's her favorite holiday.
November brought my birthday and extreme tiredness from pregnancy. For Thanksgiving, we decided no traveling. Instead we gathered with some nearby friends and it was great to have a week off. We mostly used it trying to pack and get ready for a move...even though we didn't know where we were moving to.
December Ben got a new job and he graduated! Woo hoo! And surely you haven't forgotten the rest of December yet.
Stay tuned for the exciting 2011 post.
